6 and 7 Months Old

It's been quite some time since I've blogged so here's a crash course on Tori's past couple months of life, and a few other things. :) This is probably going to be a long post, so bare with me!

6 Months Old

Tori met some big mile stones during her 6th month of life. She began rolling all over the place, and she began eating baby food really well.

Here she is at her 6 month doctor's appointment. She weighed 13.1 lbs and was 24 inches long.

Tori also traveled to 2 new states, Idaho and California.
We went to Idaho for my cousin's mission farewell. My Grandparents also live in Idaho and it was their first time meeting little Tori. Below is a 4 generations picture. My Grandma Bodily, my mom, me, and Tori.

We went to California to visit Tyler's family. Tori rode her very first airplane! We were a little nervous about taking her on a plane, but she did a really good job. Luckily the flight there is only a little under 2 hours, so by the time she ate and took a nap, we were there!

Here we are at the airport ready to get to California!

While in California we mostly just hung out with the family. I got to meet some of Tyler's family that I've never met before, so it was a good time. One of the days we went to a science museum. Obviously there was nothing there for Tori to do, but the older kids had a good time. We also got family pictures taken, they all turned out really cute.

Our family pictures turned out really cute, I just love them!

I had to add one of all the grand kids and the grandparents. This is like the only one where you can see everyone's face and no one is crying or trying to get away. It was too funny!

While in California Tori also got to meet her Great Grandma Urrutia for the first time.

7 Months Old

Tori continued to progress in rolling and eating. Tori had her very first fever this month (luckily it was just one day) and stayed sick for the whole month with a runny nose and cough. Even though she had all of these sick symptoms, baby girl still remained her happy self.

Serious girl. I love this outfit!

Tori also got some new toys! She loves this little bouncer/saucer seat, and so do we.
Look at her striking a pose. haha :)

Tyler and I had our anniversary this month as well. We celebrated it at The Happy Sumo. Mmm Mmm Mmm some sushi for me and a yummy Japanese dish for Tyler. :) Tori stayed home with my parents.

Something else very exciting that happened this month was that my little brother, Jordan, got home from his mission in Chile. It was such an exciting time for our family, when he finally got home to the house we all just followed him around to see his reactions to everything. Poor kid, he was being watched like fish in a fish bowl. He is fully adjusted back to regular day life now, and it's been fun having him around.

Their first time meeting. Oh, so cute.

That's all for now. I will update Tori's 8 months soon!

5 Months Old

I'm a little late, but I want to start blogging about Tori each month about the things she is doing and the progress she is making. Tori turned 5 months old on January 2nd. We are loving this stage in her life. She is so much fun and gets cuter by the day!

At 5 months old Tori loves to:

1.Take baths

-She's always loved the bath, but has a lot more fun now splashing around-

She looks so cute in her ducky towel.

2. Play with her toys, play in her bumbo, and of course play with US!

-She's getting really good at grabbing things and putting them to her mouth-
-She laughs A LOT-
-She loves to talk talk talk (mostly cooing and blowing bubbles)-

Her jungle gym Grandpa Monsen gave her for Christmas

Shoulder ride with Dadda!

Tori is getting really close to rolling over. You can tell she wants to, she just hasn't quite figured it out yet. It might be our fault in part that she hasn't rolled over yet, we don't give her as much tummy time as we should. We're in no hurry though, we know she'll do it when she's ready.

During Tori's 5th month of life we've also started to introduce rice cereal. She hasn't quite got the hang of it yet either, but I know she will soon. She is always watching Tyler and I so curiously while we eat. Here are some Tori's eating attempts...

The first attempt didn't work out so well, so we ended up feeding it to her through her bottle.

The 2nd time was a bit better, she ate more, and didn't get as frustrated. She sure made a mess though! :)

As a 5 month old Tori has also become very ticklish. Tyler and I love to tickle her (sometimes a little too much). She definitely has a temper on her though, and if we're doing something she doesn't like, she lets us know :)

Tori is also sleeping through the night, she usually wakes me up around 6/7 AM and then she goes back to bed after she eats till 9/10 AM. She loves to sleep in like her momma.

Right now she is wearing 0-3 months clothes, and 3 months. She's still our little girl, but we are very proud of her progress and growth.

Here are a couple more pictures from this month:

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

As our first Christmas together as a little family, I was determined to get a real Christmas Tree. Tyler wasn't so up for it, but with my crafty ways (and maybe some begging) I got my way. A real tree it was!

Sadly, the tree was dead probably 2 weeks before Christmas. You couldn't really tell though unless you touched it. Haha, it sure was a mess. I have a feeling Tyler won't be letting me get a real tree next year. It sure looked pretty when it was lit though!

Then we went and saw Santa Claus at the mall. The picture turned out pretty cute, and Tori was such a good girl!

A Christmas Tradition I look forward to every year is getting together with some family and performing the Nativity Scene. I had my fair share of having to dress up year after year, and it's nice to finally be able to sit back and watch all the little cousins dress up instead. :)

Oh, Santa Claus was there too, but Tori wasn't too happy to see him this time. ;)

Here we are as a family.

Baby Girl was in a great mood once she was in her jammies.

We just love her!

We spent Christmas Eve with Tyler's cousin's. We ate yummy food and mingled. It was a nice relaxing day that was much needed since Tyler and I were busy doing last minute Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve-Eve. Hopefully we learned our lesson this year not to procrastinate Christmas shopping. It was so stressful! Here are some pictures from Christmas Eve before we went to bed. Sorry there are lots of pics of Tori, but there are just too many cute ones to just pick a few!

                                                                       She can stand! ;)

Christmas morning we sure had a lot of presents to open (we went a little overboard for Tori). Surprising Tori acted interested in the presents for most of the time! She just sat in her bumbo and watched. It was so cute.

Tori and Dadda looking in Tori's stocking.

She loved the wrapping paper!

Tori is the best Christmas present ever!

All done!

Then we headed over to my mom's house. We opened more presents, ate some food, and Skyped with my little brother, Jordan. He is currently serving a mission in Chile. Skyping with Jordan is definitely the highlight of Christmas for my family. We are so proud of him, and are excited for him to come home in a short 2 1/2 months! We cannot wait!

Then, later in the evening we went to my dad's house. We ate some more grub, opened a couple more presents, and relaxed. It was a long day!

Aunt Taylor and Tori were pooped!

Tori and her grandpa -how cute!

We hope everyone had a great Christmas, we sure did!
